Spartans Remain No. 1 in USA Lax Magazine After Dominant Week in Tennessee
TAMPA, Fla. – The University of Tampa women's lacrosse team remains ranked No. 1 in the country in USA Lacrosse Magazine's Week 4 rankings. The Spartans' continued top ranking follows a dominant week in Tennessee, where they outscored Lincoln Memorial and Lee University 50-8. They now average 22 goals per game as an offensive collective.
The Sunshine State Conference's presence was strengthened in this week's poll, with all five previously ranked teams now inside the top 10: No. 1 Tampa, No. 2 Florida Southern, No. 7 Lynn, No. 9 Embry-Riddle, and No. 10 Saint Leo. The conference's top teams boast an impressive combined 24-2 record, with Tampa, Lynn, and Saint Leo remaining undefeated.
The Spartans now prepare for a challenging stretch, facing multiple USA Lacrosse Magazine-ranked opponents, including Florida Tech (which received consideration in this week's rankings), No. 12 Indianapolis, and No. 3 Pace. Tampa then begins conference play with matchups against No. 2 Florida Southern and No. 9 Embry-Riddle.
