Tampa Tops Panthers on the Road for Seventeenth Consecutive Victory
MELBOURNE, Fla. – The No. 1 University of Tampa Spartans showcased their dominance with a commanding 20-12 victory over the No. 21 Florida Tech Panthers.
How It Happened
- The Spartans didn't miss a beat from its last game, scoring three unanswered goals to start the game.
- Midfielder Peyton Howell notched her 100th career point after tallying the games first goal.
- Howell would tally a first quarter hat trick which would be her fifth of the season.
- Tampa would lead 6-3 after the first quarter.
- The Spartans would continue to be a threat offensively, doubling its first quarter goal total.
- Sarah Engle became the second player for Tampa to earn a hat trick.
- By halftime, the Spartans had established a commanding lead, outshooting the Panthers 19-10 and were a perfect 10-10 on clears.
