
Women's Lacrosse Bracket Set for SSC Tournament, Tampa the Top Seed
MELBOURNE, Fla. - [WLAX Tournament Page] - The Sunshine State Conference Women's Lacrosse Tournament presented by Pollo Campero opens with quarterfinal action on Saturday, April 19th. Higher seeds will host throughout this year's tournament and broadcast live via the Sunshine State Conference Digital Network.
Three programs are tied atop the SSC women's lacrosse standings for the third time in six seasons. Embry-Riddle, Florida Southern, and Tampa all finished 6-1 in league play and will share the 2025 title. Following tiebreakers, the league's top-three teams will be seeded #1 Tampa, #2 Florida Southern, and #3 Embry-Riddle.
Embry-Riddle welcomes in No. 6 Florida Tech for the first round. The Eagles bested the Panthers, 21-13, in Melbourne on February 12th during non-conference play and 20-12 in Daytona Beach on April 12th. Lynn (4-3) grabs the No. 4 seed and will host No. 5 Saint Leo (3-4) on Saturday. The Fighting Knights defeated Saint Leo, 18-12, in Boca Raton on March 29th.
Tampa, Florida Southern, and Lynn earned 2024 NCAA Division II Tournament bids. Tampa defeated Lynn, and Florida Southern downed Flagler in the first round. In the regional final, the Spartans defeated the Mocs 11-9. Tampa defeated Regis (CO) in the national semifinals before claiming the national championship with a 13-8 victory over Adelphi. It marked the first national title in program history and the second for the SSC (FSC, 2016).
