
IWLCA Ranks Women's Lacrosse No. 1
NORTHBOROUGH, Mass. – Tampa University closes out the regular season as the unanimous No. 1 team in Division II. The Spartans captured their third consecutive Sunshine State Conference (SSC) Tournament title—fourth overall since 2019—with a 15–13 victory over No. 3 Florida Southern. As the No. 1 seed in the South Region, Tampa will begin NCAA Tournament play on Thursday, May 8 at 3:00 p.m., continuing their pursuit of a second national championship.
No. 2 West Chester (18–0), fresh off winning its 27th Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) championship, secured the top seed in the Atlantic Region and will host a portion of the regional tournament next Thursday and Saturday.
Following its SSC Finals appearance, No. 3 Florida Southern enters postseason play as the No. 2 seed in the South Region and will host the first and second rounds at Berend Field.
Maryville, the No. 1 seed in the Midwest Region, comes in at No. 4 this week and will enjoy a first-round bye.
Embry-Riddle, the No. 3 seed in the South Region, rounds out the Top 5 and will take on No. 6-seeded Mount Olive on May 8 in the first round.
In total, 25 teams are represented in the poll, with voters—representing college coaches from across the nation—reflecting on the latest developments in women's lacrosse. The rankings are based on weekly performances, with the poll set to be released each Monday throughout the season.
Today's poll marks the final ranking of the regular season. The final poll of the 2025 campaign will be released following the conclusion of the NCAA Tournament.
