Rowing Fares Well at Augusta Invitational
AIKEN, S.C. - The University of Tampa crew team participated in the Augusta Invitational, winning a total of three racing while finishing in the top three in the other two.
Tampa took the Women's 1X race and then the CN4, which was made up of Jenna Panopoulos, Mauri Martin, Rachel Starr, Jeanette Nicewinter and Samantha Webb. The team won the race with a time of 9:17.2.
The Spartans also earned a top-place finish in the Open 2X as the team of Lauren Detlefsen and Allison Zimmerman were victorious. The win came after a time of 9:32.6.
The Varsity 4 team of Arianne Djahandari, Zimmerman, Detlefsen, Jodi Steelman and Theresa Osborne turned in a second place finish with a time of 8:22.1. UT also placed third in the CN8. The team included Sara Nissen, Martin, Starr, Nicewinter, Webb, Alicia Thompson, Jacqui Supplee, Katie Govin and Alissa Price with an overall time of 9:03.2.
UT returns to action on March 31 when it travels to Orlando for the Rollins Invitational.
