Spartan Rowers Complete Fall Season

The University of Tampa crew team completed its Fall season, which consisted of three races. The Spartans finished among the top in each race, including the First Coast Head Race (Jacksonville), Head of the Tennessee (Knoxville, Tenn.) and the Head of the South (Augusta, Ga.)

In the First Coast Head Race, the Womens Championship 4+ team of Lauren Detlefsen, Allison Zimmerman, Hannah York and Jodi Steelman rowed to a third place finish in a race featuring eight boats. UT finished behind the Nova A and Nova B boats in the contest.

At the Head of the Tennessee, the Womens Championship 4 of Zimmerman, Detlefsen, Natalie Adams and York finished 13th out of 19.

At the Head of the South, the Womens Pair of Zimmerman and Detlefsen finished first out of four boats. In the race, the Spartan duo finished well over four minutes ahead of its competition and the second place boat.

Tampa begins the Spring season on February 24 at the Stetson Sprints in DeLand.
