Spartans Have Strong Showing At Mayor’s Cup

TAMPA, Fla. - The University of Tampa rowing team competed in the annual Tampa Mayor's Cup on Saturday, competing in a pair of races.

The women's JV 4 team of Samantha Burns (coxswain), Alyssa Rodriques, Chelsea Michelson, Pollyanna Palhano and Allison Rolfe placed second with a time of 6:29.93.

The UT women's varsity 4 team of Dana Schwarz, Brianna Nicole, Taylor DeMesa, Melissa Ciesielski, Nathalia Pirela (coxswain) made it to the finals with a 6:20.35 showing and then placed fourth rowing at 6:26.93.

Tampa is back in action on Saturday at the John Hunter Regatta in Atlanta.
