Spartans Open Season at Head of the Hooch

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. - The University of Tampa rowing team began its 2015-16 season, competing at the annual Head of the Hooch.

Among the races UT competed in was the Women's College and Club 4+, where it finished 30th of 64. The Spartan boat included Annika Briggs (coxswain), Erin Townsend, Jessica Yetman, Anna VanBenschoten and Taylor Pecci.

The Tampa A boat was 32nd of 64, with a team of Sara Staats (coxswain), Brittany Kleiman, Mary Grace Duethman, Grace Maldonado and Stephanie Brouwer.

The Women's College and Club Lightweight 4+ for UT also placed 5th of 10. The boat included Amelia Herschede (coxswain), Meagan Hoffman, Rhianna Seferian, Maddie Davidoff and Maxie-Lew Dunn.

Tampa will next travel to Augusta, Ga., for its final competition of the fall, at the Head of the South.
