Tampa Rowing Enjoys Success at FIRA Championships
The UT Novice 4+ B Boat finished second at FIRA.
SARASOTA, Fla. - The University of Tampa rowing competed at FIRA Championships over the weekend.
On Friday, Tampa placed second in the final of the Novice 4+ B Race (Erin Townsend, Naomi Scott, Maddie Davidoff, Gabby Rezex, and coxswain: Maxie-Lew Dunn) with a time of 8:50.
They qualified for the finals in the Novice 4+ A Race (Anna VanBenschoten, Kelsey Kim, Jessica Yetman, Taylor Pecci, coxswain: Davidoff) with a fifth in their heat and a time of 8:14.
They also placed 5th in the preliminary heats for the Varsity 4+ (Stephanie Pascual, Stephanie Brouwer, Grace Maldonado, Mary Grace Duethman, and coxswain: Izzy Donabed) with a time of 8:21.
On Saturday, the double of Brouwer and Pecci grabbed a first place with a time of 8:26 before the rest of the regatta was canceled due to bad weather. The Varsity Lightweight 4+ and the Finals for the Novice 4+ A were the races cancelled.
