Spartans Race at Annual SIRA Championships
Tampa found success in its final regular season race.
OAK RIDGE, Tenn. - The University of Tampa rowing team competed at the annual Southern Intercollegiate Rowing Association (SIRA) Championships.
The Novice 4+ Open Weight placed second in the A Final with a time of 8:24. The team included Jessica Yetman, Kelsey Kim, Taylor Pecci, Anna VanBenschoten and coxswain Karen Weiner.
The Varsity light weight boat was first in the B final with a time of 8:40. The group was Sara Staats, Meagan Hoffman, Maxie-Lew Dunn, Brittany Kleiman and coxswain Amelia Herschede.
In the Varsity 4+ Open Weight, UT was second in the B Final with a time of 8:36. Racing for the Spartans were Mary Grace Duethman, Stephanie Brouwer, Grace Maldonado, Stephanie Pascual and coxswain Izzy Donabed.
The Pair B final also placede first with a time of 9:38 coming from Rhianna Seferian and Maddie Davidoff.
