Rowers Compete in Four Races at SIRA Championships
The Women's Varsity Pair of Bridget Maxwell and Maddie Davidoff were among the UT competitors.
SARASOTA, Fla. - The University of Tampa rowing team competed in the collegiate races at the Florida Intercollegiate Rowing Association (FIRA) Championships on Saturday at Nathan Benderson Park.
In the Women's Varsity Double, UT rowers Abbie Heupel and Hanna Vernetti competed to a fourth-place finish after notching a time of 57.09.
The Spartans were led by Bridget Maxwell and Maddie Davidoff in the Women's Varsity Pair as they were third overall after a time of 23.40.
Tampa competed in the Women's Freshman/Novice 8+ as the team included Abbey Grau, Kiara Williams, Emily Moreira, Gianna Wyman, Erin Hanson, Erin Martin, Kali Trimmer, Natasha Nichols and coxswain Alana Ziegler. The group placed fourth with a time of 34.41.
The Women's Lightweight Varsity 4+ notched a second-place finish with a time of 15.80. The Spartan boat included Danielle Menchen, Sam Stewart, Marissa Henderson, and Brooke Rogers and coxswain Maxie-Lew Dunn.
The Spartans return to action on April 21-22 at the SIRA Championships in Oak Ridge, Tenn.
