Tampa Rowing Opens 2022 Season
WINTER PARK, Fla. - The University of Tampa rowing team opened its 2022 campaign, competing against a Sunshine State Conference opponent at the Rollins Spring Break Race.
The event, which took place at Lake Maitland, was hosted by Rollins College. Also participating was Stockton University.
The Spartans finished the event with a pair of first-place performances to cap a successful start to the spring season.
In the white 4 first-place finish, the team included coxswain to stern, Shelby Pinette, Mia Lawrence, Jessica Mason, Anna McSwain, and Nicole Klein.
UT also picked up a first-place finish in the white 4. From coxswain to stern, the gold team included Anne Buller, Elizabeth Krist, Rachel Dewey, Emily Calarco, and Kayli Antons.
In the second-place 8 from Coxswain to bow were Taylor Nagel, Elizabeth Krist, Kayli Antons, Jessica Mason, Anna McSwain, Rachel Dewey, Emily Calarco, Nicole Klein, and Mia Lawrence.
Also competing, in the double from bow to stern, were Rachel Byrne and Eliana Maheo.
In the black 4, representing Tampa from coxswain to stern with a third-place finish, Juliette Vick, Jayden Boatwright, Emily Masse, Sophie Bradburn and Taylor Bosier.
The Spartans return to action on April 1-2, competing at the annual FIRA Championships in Sarasota, Fla.
