UT Rowing Represents at SIRA
OAK RIDGE, Tenn. - The University of Tampa rowing team competed in its final regular-season race, finishing in several races at the SIRA Championships.
In the Women's Novice 8+, the Spartans took a fifth-place finish with a time of 7:19.379 in the time trial. The UT boat from Coxswain to Bow was Anne Buller, Elizabeth Krist, Kayli Antons, Nicole Klein, Anna McSwain, Jessica Mason, Emily Calarco, Rachel Dewey, and Mia Lawrence.
The 8+ would advance to the semifinals, finishing second overall behind Purdue's winning boat. The Spartans were timed at 7:30.486.
The Spartans Women's 2x took first with a time of 8:23.897. The top team included Eliana Maheo and Rachel Byrne.
Senior Erin Hanson also championed the Women's 1x, being timed at 9:19.479 ahead of her competition from Vanderbilt and Northwestern State.
The Spartans are back in action at the 2022 Sunshine State Conference Championships on Friday in Sarasota, Fla. The race will take place at Nathan Benderson Park.
