TAMPA, Fla. - The number-one University of Tampa women's soccer team kicks off its season this weekend in Allendale, Michigan. The season opener is scheduled for Friday at 6 pm against third-ranked Grand Valley State University.

The Spartans went on to win its first ever National Championship in program history.
Tampa finishes its road trip on Sunday at noon against Ferris State. This will be the two teams' first ever meeting.
The Spartans have a long road stretch before they open up at home on September 19. UT will face West Florida at 5:30.
The defending National Champions are picked as preseason favorites to win the Sunshine State Conference after concluding last season with a 20-2-3 record. Tampa returns 13 letterwinners of which six were starters.
