Spartans Ranked Sixth in NSCAA Poll
KANSAS CITY, Kans. - After opening the season as the preseason number-one for the first time in school history, The University of Tampa women's soccer team is now ranked sixth in the NSCAA/adidas NCAA II Poll.
The Spartans suffered a 1-0 loss to now number-one Grand Valley State before defeating Ferris State by a 3-0 score.
Tampa has now been represented in the national top-25 for 40 consecutive weeks. The 2007 NCAA II national champions were previously the top-ranked team in both the 2007 final poll and 2008 preseason poll, marking the first number-one ranking in program history.
UT is back in action on Friday as it travels to Columbus, Ga., for a meeting with Columbus State at 7 p.m. The Spartans close out the trip on Sunday against Tusculum at 11 a.m.
