LAKELAND, Fla. - A first half goal was all #24 Florida Southern College needed as it handed The University of Tampa women's soccer team a 1-0 loss. UT falls to 10-5 overall and 4-1 in Sunshine State Conference play as the Mocs are now 12-3 and 6-0 in league play.
Florida Southern's Princess Haley accounted for the lone goal of the match at the 19:28 mark from Linda Hoglund and Erin Hopkins. After the ball was dropped off on the right side, it was then sent inside the six-yard box where Haley found the net.
FSC registered 11 shots compared to 10 for the Spartans. UT did hold the advantage in shots on goal, 8-4. Kendall Bourdon started in goal for UT, recording three saves in 90 minutes of play.
