Tampa Places Five on Women’s Soccer All-Region Team

KANSAS CITY, Kan. - The University of Tampa had five players selected to the 2013 National Soccer Coaches Association of America/Continental Tire NCAA Division II Women's All-South Region Team.

Tampa led the way for the Sunshine State Conference with five selections including two first-team honorees. Defenders Emily Jones and Shannon Walisch were named to the first team for the Spartans. Forwards Cici Gonzalez and Gabby Russo, and defender Candice Shields were named to the second team.

The NSCAA/Continental Tire All-America Teams are scheduled to be released on Friday, Dec. 6.

Founded in 1941 and based in Kansas City, Kan., the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) is a non-profit organization with a mission to educate coaches, encourage excellence and serve the soccer community.

The NSCAA is the world's largest soccer coaches' organization with members at every level of the game.
