No. 25 Tampa Plays to Draw with Eckerd

Box score TAMPA, Fla. -

The No. 25 University of Tampa (10-2-3, 4-2-1 SSC) women's soccer team played to a 0-0 (2 OT) draw with Eckerd College (7-5-1, 3-2-1 SSC) Wednesday evening.

At the end of the first half both teams were held scoreless. The Spartans outshot the Tritions 5-1 in shots on goal.

Throughout 90 scoreless minutes of play both defenses held strong allowing only three shots on goal in the half.

Tampa and Eckerd dueled for an extra 20 minutes of play to remain scoreless by the conclusion of the two overtime periods.

Senior Gabby Russo and junior Cici Gonzalez led the Spartans offensively contributing three shots on goal each. Kaley Ward also chipped in with two shots on goal in the match.

Sophomore goalie Caroline Frykgard ended the night with two saves in goal.
