Cici Gonzalez and Lauren Moore Achieve All-American Status
RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. - The 2014 Daktronics NCAA Division II Women's Soccer All-America team was announced, with a pair of University of Tampa student-athletes receiving recognition.
Cici Gonzalez was named a first-team All-American as teammate Lauren Moore was a third-team All-American. North Alabama junior forward Chloe Richards, the nation's leading scorer, captured the Ron Lenz National Player of the Year award.
Overall, a total of 13 student-athletes were on the first team with a total of 39 individuals were named All-Americans. Additionally, 15 were named honorable mention All-Americans.

The school's all-time leader in game-winning goals also ranked third in school history in goals, fourth in points and seventh in assists. This marks the second time that Gonzalez has been honored as an All-American as she was an honorable mention selection as a freshman.
Moore, a junior midfielder from Tampa, finished 2014 with 10 goals and 11 assists. She also ranks among all-time leader in goals (fourth), points (fifth) and assists (eighth). Moore is also a two-time All-American as she was a first-team selection as a sophomore in 2012.
The Ron Lenz National Player of the Year award was named for long-time South Dakota State sports information director Ron Lenz in 2008. Lenz was instrumental in the foundation of the Daktronics NCAA Division II All-America program, which honors outstanding student-athletes across eight NCAA Division II sports.
Sports information directors from NCAA Division II schools and conferences selected the three Daktronics All-America teams. The process begins at the regional level with all first-team all-region picks advancing to the national ballot. This year represents the eighth year that Daktronics has sponsored the NCAA Division II Women's Soccer All-America and all-region teams. A total of 54 student-athletes representing 36 different institutions filled out the three teams and the honorable mention squad.
Daktronics, Inc., an acknowledged world leader in scoring, timing and programmable display systems for virtually every sport at every level of competition, serves as sponsor of the team. The NCAA Division II members of the College Sports Information Directors of America (D2SIDA) vote on the team.
