
Sailfish visit Spartans for Saturday Night Clash
UT is coming off a 1-0 win over Eckerd to open SSC play while PBA fell 1-0 to Saint Leo
TAMPA, Fla. – The University of Tampa women's soccer team is off to a 1-0 start in Sunshine State Conference play and stands at 4-0-1 overall on the year after winning their third straight game at Eckerd on Wednesday night by a 1-0 final score. The game-winner came in the 51st minute of play as Robyn-Anne Whittaker linked up with Alexa Sheridan for the lone goal of the match. The Palm Beach Atlantic Sailfish fell at home to Saint Leo by a narrow 1-0 score as they are 0-1 in conference play and 1-3-0 overall.

About the Spartans: Tampa has continued their undefeated start to the year as they have won the last three games and are coming off their first shutout of the season. Freshman Erika Peitersen leads the team with three goals, scoring twice in her career debut against BAU and adding another tally at Queens. Junior Nastasia Asgedom leads the team in assists with two and comes into the match with a .583 SOG%. Overall, six different players have scored this season for UT and five have recorded at least one assist. In goal, senior goalkeeper Caroline Frykgard has played every minute and comes into the match with a 0.76 GAA and a 0.833 save percentage.
About the Sailfish: Palm Beach Atlantic is having a rough start to the season as they are 1-3 overall and 0-1 in conference play. After a statement win to open the season 6-0 over Concordia (NY) they have lost the last three and had a handful of games canceled/postponed. Offensively, the Sailfish have scored eight goals on 28 shots on goal. Taylor Frizen leads the team in goals with two while Gemma Burrul is at the top of the list with two assists. In net, Isabelle Granlund has played the majority of the minutes and has conceded six goals and recorded 19 saves on 50 shots faced.
Series History: Tampa holds a 12-1-0 edge in the all-time series over Palm Beach. The Spartans have won the last 11 matchups in the series.
The team will be partnering with the Lace up 4 Pediatric Cancer Foundation to bring awareness to the group and also to help them out with their mission.
