Tampa Hosts Florida Southern for SSC Clash
UT is coming off a close 1-0 win over PBA in OT last weekend
TAMPA, Fla. – The University of Tampa women's soccer team is coming off a 1-0 victory over Palm Beach Atlantic in overtime to extend their win streak to four games. The Spartans are off to a 2-0 start in the SSC and will look to move to 3-0 as they take on Florida Southern College who is 1-1 in conference play. The Mocassins defeated Saint Leo 2-1 in OT last Saturday on the road and came back from a 1-0 deficit against Valdosta State at home midweek to win 2-1.

About the Spartans: Tampa has posted back to back shutouts for the first time this season. Erika Peitersen leads the team with three goals while Nastasia Asgedom and Ali Robinson are tied for second with two goals each. Robinson is coming off scoring the game-winner against PBA in the 95th minute. Asgedom leads the team in assists with two while five other Spartans have added at least one each. Overall, six different players have scored this season for UT and seven of the 10 goals have been assisted. In net, senior goalkeeper Caroline Frykgard has played every minute and comes into the match with a 0.64 GAA and a 0.846 save percentage.
About the Mocs: The Mocassins have spread the goalscoring duties around as they have seven goals this season and seven different players have scored for them. Sophomore Alexa Moberley leads the team with two assists while three other players have recorded one assist each. Senior keeper Helena Norrstrom has played a majority of the minutes for FSC across the five games. She has conceded just three goals in close to 400 minutes and has recorded 18 saves.
Series History: Tampa leads the all-time series with a 19-5-2 record against FSC. UT has won the last three games in the series.
