
Lovisa Camel Selected as SSC Defensive Player of the Week
MELBOURNE, Fla. - University of Tampa women's soccer goalkeeper Lovisa Camel was recognized as the Sunshine State Conference (SSC) Defensive Player of the Week, her first career Player of the Week award.
Camel received Defensive Player of the Week honors after totaling ten saves in goal last week. In the pair of matchups, she faced 12 shots on goal and a total of 14 corner kicks while in net for the Spartans. Camel started in both games for the Spartans last week, tallied five saves versus the University of Colorado-Colorado Springs and five saves versus the Barry Buccaneers, the first SSC matchup of the season for the Spartans.
Sunshine State Conference athletes of the Week are chosen from a pool of nominees for their performances during the week of September 13 – 19, 2021. Athletic Communication Directors of member institutions nominate athletes.
