Katherine Hostage Named SSC Offensive Player of the Week
MELBOURNE, Fla. - University of Tampa women's soccer forward Katherine Hostage was named the Sunshine State Conference (SSC) Offensive Player of the Week, the first of her career.
Hostage received Offensive Player of the Week honors after netting three goals last week, two of which were game-winners. In the Spartans 2-1 win over Saint Leo, Hostage netted her sixth goal of the season in the 68th minute to give the Spartans the edge over the Lions. On Saturday against the Rollins Tars, Hostage scored both the equalizer and the game-winner for the Spartans, bringing her season total to eight goals.
Sunshine State Conference athletes of the Week are chosen from a pool of nominees for their performances during the week of October 18 – 24, 2021. Athletic Communication Directors of member institutions nominate athletes.
