
Tampa Kicks Off 2023 Season in Tennessee
TAMPA, Fla. - The University of Tampa women's soccer team will kick off the 2023 season in non-conference play with a pair of away matches in Memphis, Tennessee. Action begins Friday evening with the Tampa Spartans taking on the Christian Brothers Buccaneers. Following their match up with the Buccaneers, Tampa will face Delta State for the first time on Sunday morning.

About the 2023 Spartans: The Spartans are opening their 2023 campaign after finishing the 2022 season with an overall record of 6-6-5. This year's lineup will consist of 14 returners, including four starters from last year's squad. Hannah Kirkpatrick, a senior from North Allegheny Senior HS, recorded a single game career-high in goals scored with two against Saint Leo. Sofia Karlholm was a part of three shutout performances for the Spartans. The Spartans are looking to kick off their season on a positive note on the road.

Christian Brothers Buccaneers
Christian Brothers University finished the 2022 season with a 9-6-3 overall record. The Bucs tallied 203 total shots with 41 finding the back of the net.
This will be the seventh matchup between Tampa and Christian Brothers with the previous meeting falling in favor for the Bucs in a 3-2 win.
Delta State Statesmen
In 2022, Delta State University ended their campaign 6th in the Gulf South Conference and broke the program's record for most wins in a season with a 7-4-2 conference record.
