TAMPA, Fla. – The University of Tampa Spartans close out home opening weekend with a win over Lee.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
FIRST HALF: The Spartans were looking to set the tone early, driving up the field to get a corner within the first four minutes. Nellie Bryneus netted the first goal for the Spartans in the 34th minute after converting her penalty kick. The Lady Flames looked to answer, forcing Aidan Smith to make her only save of the half.

SECOND HALF: The Spartans were looking for their second goal of the match. Their efforts paid off in the 70th minute when Sydney Dennis found Allison Wold to extend the Spartans lead to 2-0. Seven minutes later, Mimi Cronquist netted the final goal for the Spartans. The Lady Flames were hoping to respond, as Alaysia Nye took a shot on goal, but those hopes were dashed as Smith came up with the save.
