Norbert Kovacs Recipient of Weekly Accolade

ORLANDO, Fla. - University of Tampa junior Norbert Kovacs has been recognized as Sunshine State Conference Men's Swimmer of the Week for the period ending October 16.

Kovacs (Budapest, Hungary) posted three individual wins to help the Spartans edge out rival Florida Southern by a 104-101 tally. Kovacs clocked a time of 9:46.85 to take first place in the 1,000-yard freestyle. He also won the 500-yard freestyle with a mark of 4:45.40. Showing versatility, he touched the wall first in the 200-yard butterfly with a winning time of 1:53.15.
