Sophie Long Sets School-Record at Spartan Invite
The Spartans continue to sit in second-place heading to the final day.
CLEARWATER, Fla. – The University of Tampa women's swimming team remains in second place among six competitors at the Spartan Invite following day three of action.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
• There were a total of six women's events on Sunday.
• Nova Southeastern claimed five first-place performances on Sunday, which keeps them in the overall team lead.
• Tampa won one race on Sunday and continues to keep pace with the Sharks while leading Indian River and Florida Southern.
TOP PERFORMERS:
• Day three opened with the 400 IM as Tampa's Aubrey Hillborn finished seventh with a time of 4:34.27.
• Sophie Long set a new school record for Tampa in the 100 Fly. Her 55.48 mark put her in the Spartan record books. Victoria Horsman was sixth (57.26) while Molly O'Hara placed eighth (57.88).
• Megan Waddell (1:53.95) and Brittany Bayes (1:54.08) were sixth and seventh respectively in the 200 Free.
• The 100 Breast runner-up went to UT's McKenzie Street with a time of 1:04.09. Ali Lombardi was sixth at 1:05.53) while Page Fox was eighth at 1:07.22.
• Three Spartans finished in the top eight in the 100 Back, led by a fourth-place finish from Catherine Bayes (57.68). Allison Chandler was seventh (59.16) as Brittany Murphy was eighth (1:00.22).
• The night commenced with the 800 Free Relay, where Tampa had teams finish fourth, sixth and eighth. The fourth-place team of Long, B. Bayes, Waddell and Courtney Markle were clocked at 7:38.37.
UP NEXT:
Monday's action will start with the 9:30 a.m., prelims and conclude with the 5 p.m, finals. Monday's events include the 200 Back, 100 Free, 200 Breast, 200 Fly and the 400 Free Relay. The 1,650 race is scheduled for 11 a.m., as part of the distance session.
