Holly Wessel Garners SSC Swimmer of the Week Honors
MELBOURNE, Fla. - University of Tampa freshman women's swimmer Holly Wessel has been recognized as the Sunshine State Conference Swimmer of the Week, as announced Monday afternoon by the league office.
Wessel takes Swimmer of the Week as the top performer for Tampa in a dual at Florida State. The Naperville, Illinois product finished fourth place in the 1000 Free with a time of 10:18.45. Her time stands as the 14th best in Division II this season and eclipsed the NCAA "B" provisional standard. Wessel also finished third in the 500 Free with an NCAA "B" provisional qualifying time of 5:01.40.
Sunshine State Conference Athletes of the Week are chosen from a pool of nominees for their performances during the week of January 24 - 30, 2022. Athletic Communication Directors of member institutions nominate athletes.
