Caleb Brandon, Kim McCaffrey Highlight UT Day Two Atop Spartan Invite
CLEARWATER, Fla. - The University of Tampa men's and women's swimming teams continued competition at the seventh-annual Spartan Invite, with both UT teams continuing to hold firm leads atop the standings.
INSIDE THE MATCHUP:
Men's Day One Team Scoring: Tampa 749, Indian River 548, St. Leo 297, Lenoir-Rhyne 197, Emory & Henry 60
Women's Day One Team Scoring: Tampa 761, West Florida 501, Indian River 297, St. Leo 184, Lenoir-Rhyne 98, Emory & Henry 19

MEN'S TOP PERFORMERS:
- Caleb Brandon established a new school record with a 1:36.18 performance in the 200 Free. His record time came in the morning prelims session.
- In the evening session, Tampa won the 200 Free Relay with a time of 1:20.08 from Tibor Tistan, Brandon, Patrick Fry and Santiago Aguilera.
- Tistan followed his relay victory with a second-place finish in the 100 Fly at 48.15.
- A pair of Spartans finished in the top three of the 400 IM, led by a top finish from Hayden Curley with a time of 3:49.25. Aramis Rivera was the third-place finisher at 3:56.34.
- The Spartans took 1-2-3 in the 200 Free, led by Aguilera with a winning time of 1:36.48. Brandon and Parker Knollman followed.
- Tampa won the 400 Medley Relay to conclude the night, winning in 3:14.66. The winning quartet included Knollman, Rivera, Tistan and Aguilera.
WOMEN'S TOP PERFORMERS:
- UT opened the evening finals session with a first-place time of 1:33.04 in the 200 Free Relay. The winning team included Emily Van De Wiele, Tilde Morin, Sophie Frece and Roma Vrijhof.
- Madysen Barnes finished second in the 100 Fly with a time of 54.88.
- The 400 IM included a third-place effort from Brooke Punnewaert as she was timed at 4:26.69.
- Van De Wiele championed the 200 Free, winning with a time of 1:50.56.
- UT closed day two with a first and new school record in the 400 Medley Relay. A time of 3:42.83 came from Kim McCaffrey, Alli McFarland, Madi Lauger and Roma Vrijhof.
- McCaffrey set a school record with her leadoff leg time of 54.70 in the 100 Back.
