
Tampa Swimming Completes Dominant Four-Day Spartan Invite
CLEARWATER, Fla. - The University of Tampa men's and women's swimming teams led from .start to finish at the four-day Spartan Invite, easily capturing both crowns.
INSIDE THE MATCHUP:
Men's Day One Team Scoring: Tampa 1,506.5, Indian River 1,013.5, St. Leo 543, Lenoir-Rhyne 418, Emory & Henry 158
Women's Day One Team Scoring: Tampa 1,546, West Florida 1,031, Indian River 610, St. Leo 317, Lenoir-Rhyne 170, Emory & Henry 46

MEN'S TOP PERFORMERS:
- The evening session started with a 1-2-3 finish from the Spartans in the 100 Free. Santiago Aguilera took the title as he finished in 43.88. Tibor Tistan and Caleb Brandon followed in second and third, respectively.
- Parker Knollman was second in the 200 Back with a time of 1:45.87, followed by Hayden Curley in third place.
- In the 200 Breast, Aramis Rivera was the champion at 1:59.78 as Jared Mindek was second in the event.
- The final event of the meet, Tampa championed the 400 Free Relay in 2:57.06. The winning team included Tistan, Brandon, Knollman and Aguilera.
WOMEN'S TOP PERFORMERS:
- UT started the evening with a first and second-place finish in the 100 Free. Emily Van De Wiele won in 50.39, followed by Tilde Morin.
- Kim McCaffrey set a new school record in the 200 Back as the freshman finished with a time of 1:58.08. Teammate Sierra Gillan finished in third place.
- The 200 Breast resulted in a second-place finish from Julia Augustsson in 2:19.00. Brooke Punnewaert was third.
- UT won the 400 Free Relay to conclude the Invite. Erika DiPietro, Roma Vrijhof, Morin and Van DeWiele were the first to finish, doing so in 3:22.21.
