SSC Presents Madysen Barnes With Swimmer of the Week Award

MELBOURNE, Fla. - University of Tampa swimmer Madysen Barnes has been selected as the Sunshine State Conference Women's Swimmer of the Week, as announced Monday by the league office.

Barnes garners SSC Swimmer of the Week accolades following a school record during a meet against Florida State. The Canadian set the Spartan women's swimming record in the 100 IM with a time of 59.89, which placed her fifth. She finished fourth in 100 Back (57.67) and fifth in 200 IM (2:08.19).

Sunshine State Conference Athletes of the Week are chosen from a pool of nominees for their performances during the week of January 23 - 29, 2023. Athletic Communication Directors of member institutions nominate athletes.
