Tampa Women's Swimming Sets Several NCAA Marks at Eagle Invitational
FORT MYERS, Fla. - At the second and final day of the 2024 Florida Gulf Coast University Eagle Invitational, the University of Tampa women's swimming team finished second among five teams.
The Spartans held the lead heading into the diving events, where Florida Gulf Coast University surged ahead of Tampa.
Top Tampa Performers
- The Spartans began Saturday with a third-place finish in the 200 Medley Relay. The team of Kim McCaffrey, Katie Ramsey, Alicia Soderlind and Tilde Morin registered a time of 1:43.77. The performance was an NCAA Division II top time for the 2024-25 season.
- Tampa took 1-2 in the 400 IM, led by a winning time of 4:22.21 from freshman Burlingtyn Bokos. She was followed by Carlie Tyler with a time of 4:25.50.
- Sophia Frece led Tampa in the 100 Fly as she was fifth overall after being clocked at 56.81. Bokos' time was the top among Division II swimmers this season.
- The 200 Free included Lindsey Louder and Sierra Gillan in the second and third spots, respectively. Louder was timed at 1:52.12 as Gillan was next at 1:52.44.
- Freshman Alicia Soderlind was seventh to lead Tampa in the 100 Breast with a finish of 1:05.09.
- Second and third place went to Tampa swimmers Lindsey Louder and Sidni Meister in the 100 Back with times of 56.75 and 56.98.
- A runner-up time of 7:35.83 was registered in the 800 Free Relay from the group of Brooke Mahneke, Sierra Gillan, Laura Hodgson and Lindsey Louder.
- Laura Hodgson prevailed in the 1,650 Free with a first-place time of 17:07.45. Morgan Wimberly was second with a time of 17:15.42.
- Burlingtyn Bokos added a fourth-place finish of 58.67 in the 100 IM.
- Carlie Tyler was clocked at 30.72 in the 200 Back as she was the runner-up. Lindsey Louder was third in the event.
- Alicia Soderlind placed fourth to lead Tampa in the 100 Free with a time of 51.80.
- The 200 Breast included a fourth-place finish from Cameron Dukat with a time of 2:20.06.
- Burlingtyn Bokos championed the 200 Fly with a time of 2:01.31 as she was followed by her teammate and runner-up Sierra Gillan at 2:02.73.
- Tampa was second in the 400 Free Relay with a time of 3:27.15.

- Tampa will host the University of Florida and Rollins College on Saturday at 12:30 p.m., for its home opener at the Riseman Aquatics Center.
