Spartans Remain in Contention Heading to Final Day of Gamecock Invite
COLUMBIA, S.C. - The University of Tampa men's and women's swimming teams continued action at the three-day Gamecock Invite, which is hosted by the University of South Carolina at Carolina Natatorium. The Spartans are second overall in men's action, while the women remain third overall.

Top Tampa Swimmers (Men's)
- Tampa established a new school record in the first men's event of day 2. The 200 Medley Relay team of William Beckstead-Holman, Jared Mindek, Tibor Tistan and Caleb Brandon set a new mark of 1:25.83. The Spartans would finish fourth in the event.
- Ollie Pope was the top Spartan in the Men's 400 IM, finishing eighth with time of 3:55.81.
- The 100 Fly included a fourth-place finish from Tibor Tistan at 46.62.
- Rafael Ponce De Leon and Jacob Hamlin finish third and fourth respectively in 200 Free, as the duo was clocked at 1:36.61 and 1:36.97.
- Jared Mindek and Richard Polasek turned in fifth and sixth place finishes respectively in the 100 Breast. The final times for the pair were 53.41 and 53.81.
- In the men's 100 Back, UT was led by seventh-place finisher William Beckstead-Holman with a time of 47.54.
- Day two wrapped up with Tampa finishing in first-place in the 800 Free Relay, also setting a new pool record at the Carolina Natatorium that previously dated back to 1995. The time of 6:27.12 came from Parker Knollman, Jacob Hamlin, Jaxson Row and Rafael Ponce De Leon.
Top Tampa Swimmers (Women)
- Day two began with Tampa finishing seventh in the 200 Medley Relay. A time of 1:41.02 came from Sidni Meister, Stephanie Vogt, Sierra Gillan and Roma Vrijhof.
- Freshman Burlingtyn Bokos established a new Tampa school record with a time of 4:16.89 in the 400 IM. She would finish the event eighth overall.
- Sidni Meister concluded the 100 Fly with a time of 56.99. Teammate Brooke Mahneke joined her teammate in the top-20 with a time of 57.74.
- The Spartans were led by Laura Hodgson in the 200 Free, finishing the race in 1:50.77 for a 15th-place result.
- Stephanie Vogt paced the Spartans in the 100 Breast, finishing 12th at 1:03.77. She is followed by teammate Alicia Soderlind.
- Kim McCaffrey was clocked at 55.03 in the 100 Back to finish 12th overall.
- The Spartan women wrapped up day two with a third-place in the 800 Free Relaywith a time of 7:25.80 from Sierra Gillan, Carlie Tyler, Laura Hodgson and Burlingtyn Bokos.
