Spartans Place Nine on All-SSC Women's Swimming Team
MELBOURNE, Fla. - Twenty-four student-athletes have been selected to the 2024-25 All-SSC Women's Swimming Team. Voting for the team was conducted among the Sunshine State Conference women's swimming coaches. Tampa, the 2025 SSC women's champion, boasts nine honorees, including five three Team award winners. Barry, Florida Southern, Lynn, and Nova Southeastern are also represented in this year's conference awards.
With nine selections, this marks the most Spartans ever placed on an all-SSC women's swimming team. First-team selections include Burlingtyn Bokos, Laura Hodgson and Sierra Gillan. Earning a spot on the second team are Carlie Tyler, Morgan Wimberly and Alyssa Webb. Lindsey Louder, Sidni Meister and Roma Vrijhof were presented as members of the third team.

NSU's May Lowy and Luna Mertins of Lynn, the reigning SSC Championship Swimmer of the Meet, again highlight the All-SSC selections in 2024-25. Both athletes repeat as First Team for the fourth consecutive season, becoming the sixth and seventh SSC women's swimmers to earn four First Team accolades in a career1. The duo joins Heather Glenday (Tampa, 2010-14); Alli Crenshaw (FSC, 2012-16); Courtney DeVeny (NSU, 2014-18); Natalia Garriock (Saint Leo, 2014-18); and Malin Westman (NSU, 2014-18) as four-time First Team award winners.
Emilia Ronningdal from Nova Southeastern becomes the 15th athlete to earn three First Team accolades, while her teammate Hailey Williams and Tampa's Sierra Gillan repeat as First Team honorees from last season. Mertins, Ronningdal, and Third Team honoree Lindsey Louder from Tampa were all previously named SSC Freshman of the Year. A total of 12 athletes across the three all-conference teams repeat as a league honoree from 2023-24.
Of special note is Third Team award winner Diana Suprun, who becomes the first Barry women's swimming athlete to earn All-SSC honors. The Buccaneers are in year two of the men's and women's swimming programs.
Coach of the Year, Swimmer of the Year, and Freshman of the Year will be voted on by league coaches following the NCAA Division II championship from Tuesday, March 11th to Saturday, March 15th, at the IU Natatorium on the campus of IUPUI in Indianapolis, Indiana.
