Spartan Tennis Impressive in Preseason Tournament

LAKELAND, Fla. - The University of Tampa tennis team won all three divisions this weekend at the three-day YTF Tournament in Lakeland.

In Gold Division singles play, sophomore transfer Ekaterina Grib beat Flagler College's Lixin Wang in the final 6-4, 6-4.

In doubles play, Grib partnered with Savannah Williams to defeat Flagler's Nissan and Traub in the final by a score of 8-6.

The White Division singles was also championed by the Spartans as sophomore Nicoline Palmgren beat SEU's Mia Dunagan in the final by straight-set scores of 6-0, 6-1.

Overall UT won 26 matches and lost 15 in the three-day event held in Lakeland at the Beerman Tennis Center.

Tampa opens its 2020 regular season on February 1-2 at the all-day UT Invitational at the Naimoli & Young Family Tennis Complex.
