Ryan McCall Meet Features UT Success

TAMPA, Fla. - The University of Tampa men's and women's track teams each enjoyed top performances at the annual Ryan McCall Meet, which was hosted by UT at Pepin Stadium.
Eddie Keenan finished eighth in the 1,500 meter run as he finished in 4:15.23. Kristinn McNair added a seventh place finish in the 400 meter dash, running it in 52.18.
In the 800 meter run, Jessie Boria was second overall, finishing in 1:57.07. Scott Billings was ninth at 2:01.16.
The men's 5,000 meter run saw Tampa's Joe Weber lead the team, finishing eighth with a time of 15:26.87. UT also won the 4x400 meter relay in 3:32.41.
The Spartan women featured a pair of top-10 finishers in the 1,500 meter race as Kayla Sullivan was third (4:58.64) and Rachel Higgins was seventh (5:09.40).
The women's 400 meter dash included a trio of UT runners, including Kristin Steede (6th, 1:03.28), Sara Balzer (7th, 1:03.74) and Taylor Morrison (8th, 1:05.29).
Senior Chantalle Blundell was the top Spartan in the 5,000 meter, finishing second overall with a time of 17:46.21. Claudia Cancello was third at 17:50.31 while Elaina Cancello was fifth at 18:07.74. Juli Boehm (8th, 18:51.45) also turned in a top-10 effort for the Spartans.
In the 100 meter hurdles, Bailey Truesdale was third overall, being clocked at 18.02. Faith Taylor was fifth in the 200 meter dash, with a 27.06.
Five Tampa runners were in the top-10 of the 800 meter run, led by Caitlin Whetstone's fourth-place finish of 2:26.13. Also in the top-10 were Kayla Sullivan (7th, 2:32.54), Kaelin Willette(8th, 2:33.96), Rachel Higgins (9th, 2:34.36) and Lena Fischer (10th, 2:35.37).
UT's women also took a first-place finish in the 4x100 meter relay, being timed at 52.37. Tampa also won the 4x400 meter relay in 4:16.07.
The Spartans will next compete at the USF Open on March 11-12.
