
UT Runners Among Pack at USF Open
Spartans compete in distance and sprint events at two-day meet.
TAMPA, Fla. – The University of Tampa track teams ran at the USF Bulls Invitational on Friday and Saturday, competing against NCAA Division I runners.

Top Performers
Tampa Men
- Lars Benner led the way in the only event for Tampa on Friday, finishing 10th in the 5,000 with a time of 15:24.99.
- Benner was also fifth in the 1,500, leading the Spartans with a time of 4:04.35. Joey Maus was seventh at 4:09.25 while Jessie Boria was eighth at 4:10.16.
Tampa Women
- In Friday's lone event for the Spartans, senior Claudia Cancello led the way for UT in the 5,000 with a fourth-place finish and time of 18:13.56. Thea Ramsey turned in a 10th-place finish with an effort of 19:04.75.
- Kristin Steede finished just outside the top-10 at No. 11 in the 400 Meter Dash with a time of 59.65.
- Bailey Truesdale was eighth in the 400 Meter Hurdles after being clocked at 1:11.57.

The Spartans head to Jacksonville on Friday for the UNF Spring Break Invitational.
