
Spartans Set 5K Records at Track Classic
TAMPA, Fla. - The University of Tampa men's and women's track teams hosted the annual UT Track Classic, welcoming 21 teams.
The Spartans finished second overall in men's action and fourth among the women's teams. Embry-Riddle championed the men, while Nova Southeastern took the women's team title.
School Records
Zoe Jarvis broke a 12-year record in the 5K with a time of 17:07.39.
Trevor Kattenberg established his own school record in the 5K with a 14:37.82 time.
Devon Sullivan had a school-record that was bested by Kattenberg in the 5K at 14:50.87.
Sean Popik's 5K time of 14:49.93 was previously good for a school-record before Kattenberg registered his record time.
Personal Records
Evan Ambrose was third in the 400 Meter Hurdles at 59.75.
Shane Cohen competed in the 800 Meters, placing third with a time of 1:56.40.
Paul Wales was among several successful 5K runners, finishing in 14:59.46.
Monika Brill had a 5K time of 17:43.15.
Freshman Aspen Gordon established a new personal best in the 5K at 17:59.12.
Madison Mimnaugh had a 5K time of 18:08.89.
Tampa returns to action on March 20-21 at the Bulls Invitational at the University of South Florida.
