Women's Track Honored In Senior Salute
TAMPA, Fla. – The University of Tampa Athletics would like to celebrate the careers and accomplishments of the women's track this week. Due to their season getting cut short, we will honor each student-athlete who will not get a normal senior salute at the end of the season.
Women's track will graduate three seniors from the team. Each of these seniors, Lexi Bible, Julia Lockridge, and Madison Mimnaugh, also competed for Tampa's cross country team. For their athletic accomplishments and times, all three runners have appeared at the NCAA Division II South Region Championships, and they have helped lead their team to some great finishes across their years.
Lexi Bible, a distance runner from Hermitage, Pa., will graduate from the University of Tampa with a degree in Sport Management. Bible has competed at four Sunshine State Conference Cross Country Championships and two NCAA Division II South Region Cross Country Championships during her time as a Spartan. Bible wields some impressive career times including a 2:17.57 800, achieved at the 2019 UNF Invitational, a 4:43.51 1500, achieved at the 2018 Embry-Riddle Spike's Classic, and a 5:20.84 mile, achieved at the 2018 Embry-Riddle First Chance Last Chance meet. Her impressive mile time earned her a second place spot at the Embry-Riddle First Chance Last Chance meet, and her 1500 earned her a fourth place finish at the Spike's Classic. Bible's record 23:08.8 6k (XC) notably helped Tampa clinch the 2018 SSC Cross Country Championship with her individual placing of 13th. In the short 2020 track season, Bible earned a third place finish at the Tampa Track Classic #2 (1500m) and a 6th place finish at the Tampa Track Classic #1 (800m).
Julia Lockridge, a mid-distance runner from Stuttgart, Germany will graduate from the University of Tampa with a degree in Allied Health. Lockridge attended Weber State University before her career as a Spartan began in 2017. Lockridge has recorded three SSC XC Championship and three NCAA DII South Region XC Championship appearances, achieving times which qualified her for the 2019 NCAA DII Cross Country Championships. During her senior year at the NCAA Championships, she ran a career best 22:49.8 6k. Her times earlier that same season at the South Region Championships helped lead Tampa to a second place South Region finish. Lockridge's fastest 800m and fastest 1500m came just days apart, as she ran a 2:14.94 800m (landing her a 13th place finish at the UF Tom Jones Memorial) and a 4:48.76 1500m (a 19th place finish at the Georgia Tech Invitational) in April of the 2019 season. She was able to finish out her senior track season with a first place 4x400 time of 4:49.74, at the Tampa Track Classic #1, and three separate second place finishes at the Tampa Track Classics #1 and #2.
Madison Mimnaugh, from Pittson, Pa., will graduate from the University of Tampa with a degree in Communications. Prior to her time as a Spartan, the mid-distance runner attended Bloomsburg University. During her Spartan career, Mimnaugh has run at a Sunshine State Cross Country Championship, an NCAA DII South Region Championship, and an NCAA DII Championship. She has posted a personal best Cross Country time of 19.19.9 5k and a 22:32.3 6k, occurring just one month after one another. Her 19.19.9 time allowed for a top 65 finish among over 220 other runners at the FSU Invitational in which 24 schools competed. Her time helped Tampa post a third place team finish, just behind Division 1 Florida and Florida State. Her 22:32.3 6k came at the NCAA D2 Cross Country Championships, besting her previous 6k time by nearly a full minute. To round out her career as a Spartan, Mimnaugh ran a blazing 5k time of 18:08.89 at the UT Track Classic in early 2020.
The University of Tampa Athletic Department would like to extend congratulations to the women's track Class of 2020 for their impressive careers, academically and athletically. As these women go on to the next chapter of their lives, we wish them all the best, and we thank them for their dedication to the program, the school, and their sports.
Please join the Tampa Spartans as we honor the seniors for each of our spring sports teams. As a result of the cancelation of all spring games and competition, typical senior-honoring events have also been canceled. We will select a different team each week for which we will honor those graduating this year.
