Busy Weekend as Spartans Compete at USF and Lee
TAMPA, Fla. – The University of Tampa men's and women's track teams were both in action at a pair of meets, competing at the USF Invite and Lee Flames Invitational.
Top Performances, USF Invite (Men)
- UT was 11th in the 400 Relay. The team of Maurice Gentry, Joey Coulter, Riley Pelletier and Jake Swad was timed at 42.45.
- Khalil Snell was 28th in the 400 at 51.53.
- Joey Coulter raced to a 24th-place 100 with a 10.94.
- In the 400 Hurdles, Jayden Berry was 20th at 1:03.44.
- Riley Pelletier was 27th in the 200 at 2.41.
- In the 5,000, Aidan Barich had a top-10 finish an time of 15:51.15.
- The Spartans were 13th in the 1,600 Relay as the group of Daniel Perez, Jackson Brown, Anthony Russo and Khalil Snell finished in 3:56.91.
Top Performances, USF Invite (Women)
- Nikki Bezborodko placed 19th in the 1,500 with a time of 5:11.60.
- The 100 Hurdles included a ninth-place finish of 15.43 from Allison Murphy, which was also a new school record. She was also sixth in the 400 Hurdles as she was clocked at 1:04.16.
- Nicole Sullivan ran the 400 in 59.13 to place 17th.
- Camilla Nicholas competed in the 100, placing 11th overall with a time of 11.93.
- Zahra Wilson was 16th in the 800 as she finished in 2:20.21.
- The 200 included UT's Jada Bolhuis, who was 21st at 25.02.
- Alex Frye was the fastest Spartan in the 5,000. She was 11th with a time of 19:41.33.
Top Performances, Flames Invitational (Men)
- In the 800, two-time All-American Shane Cohen was the top Spartans. He would finish in 36th with a time of 1:58.15.
- Paul Wales was the fastest Spartan in the 1,500 at 4:02.38.
- Caleb Belmont placed in the 5,000, finishing 39th with a time of 15:04.80.
- The 10,000 included a top performance from Aaron Engelhardt as he was 16th with a time of 30:20.44.
Top Performances, Flames Invitational (Women)
- Emily Kriney was 26th in the 1,500 at 4:51.94.
- Tabitha Suggs starred for the Spartans in the 5,000, as she was 23rd with a time of 17:46.47.
Up Next: Tampa returns to action on April 21-22 at the Georgia Tech Invite in Atlanta.
