Outdoor Season Kicks Off Successfully
TAMPA, Fla. - Pepin Stadium hosted the first meet of the outdoor track season for the University of Tampa Spartans, The Tampa Track Classic. With great success, the Spartans broke four outdoor school records and added multiple athletes to the top 10 all-time performance list. The team as whole achieved great accomplishments, scoring 205 points on the women's side. The Spartans will run at Pepin Stadium again on March 7th, celebrating Senior Night!
Top Performers (men):
- 100m Dash: Jacob Khashou, 1st place, 10.77 (School Record).
- 200m Dash: Jacob Khashou, 1st place, 21.69 (School Record).
- 400m Hurdles: Rory Olsen, 1st place, 53.83 (School Record).
- 5000m: George Alexander, 1st place, 14:28.77 (School Record).
Top Performers (women)
- 100m Dash: Sarah Martinez, 1st place, 12.64.
- 100m Dash: Lillian Hicks, 2nd place, 12.73.
- 200m Dash: Sarah Martinez (1st), Lillian Hicks (2nd), Kate Carter (3rd), Allie Murphy (4th), Chloe Green (5th), and Molly Morris (6th) - Tampa sweep.
- 1500m: Kendra Krueger, 1st place, 4:38.54.
- 3000m: Olivia Harp, 1st place, 9:52.56 (School Record) and Lindsey Volkman, 2nd place, 9:58.53.
- 5000m: Campbell Caldwell, 2nd place, 17:02.13.
