
SSC Presents Allison Murphy as Sprinter of the Week
MELBOURNE, Fla. - University of Tampa track standout Allison Murphy has been named the Sunshine State Conference Sprinter of the Week, as announced Monday by the league office and presented by Pollo Campero.
Murphy captured the Tampa program record and set the top conference time in the 100 hurdles at the ERAU Running Elements Classic in Daytona Beach. The junior from Naugatuck, Connecticut, finished fourth overall in the 100 hurdles with a time of 14.59 but earned the UTampa record with a 14.31 mark in prelims. Additionally, Murphy led the Spartans to a fifth-place finish in the 4x100 (47.98) and third place in the 4x400 (3:54.66). The weekly award is her second this season.
This marks the second Sprinter of the Week award for the junior from Naugatuck, Conn.
Sunshine State Conference Athletes of the Week are chosen from a pool of nominees for their performances during the week of March 31 - April 6, 2025. Athletic Communication Directors of member institutions nominate athletes.
