
Volleyball is Set to Host Rollins and Palm Beach Atlantic
The Tampa Women's Volleyball team is set to host two confrerence games this weekend against the Rollins Tars and the Palm Beach Atlantic Sailfish.
TAMPA, Fla. – The University of Tampa is set to host the Rollins College Tars on Friday, November 3 at 7 p.m. in the Bob Martinez Athletics Center. Then on Saturday, November 4 at 4 p.m., Tampa welcomes the Palm Beach Atlantic Sailfish.
Match One: University of Tampa (11-13, 6-7 SSC) vs. Rollins College (8-14, 5-10 SSC)
Date/Time: Friday, November 3 at 7 p.m.

Last Time Out: Tampa fell to Florida Southern College in three sets. Sorrel Houghton and Nicole Dominguez each had eight kills for the Spartans. Right behind them was Taylor Fosler who recorded seven kills. Molly McAlvany led the defense with twelve digs for Tampa, while sophomore Sammy Mueller logged 26 assists.
About the Spartans: The Spartans are led both on offense and defense by sophomore outside hitter, Nicole Dominguez. Dominguez has recorded 237 kills and 239 digs thus far, with six double-doubles this year. Freshman pin hitter Sorrel Houghton has a total of 241 kills and Nylah Demps has 193 kills on the season. In the middle, the Spartans returned 2016 All-SSC Newcomer, Taylor Fosler. Fosler has not disappointed this season and sits at 182 kills with an average hitting percentage of .402. Also returning to the starting rotation for the Spartans is sophomore setter, Sammy Mueller. Mueller currently has 573 assists, 118 digs, 20 kills, 12 service aces, and has nine blocks thus far. At the libero position, Coach Chris Catanach has made a plethora of changes throughout the year. On any given day, the libero could be Kasey Reynolds, Kaitlyn Ajmani, or Molly McAlvany who have stated 144, 161, and 148 digs respectively.
About the Tars: The Tars are currently 8-14 overall, 5-10 in the SSC. Offensively, Rollins is led by Shannon McDonough who has 290 kills with an average kill percentage of .213. Following McDonough, the Tars next offensive leaders are Bri Civiero with 256 kills and Madison Jenkins with 97 kills. Rollins uses Cassidy Cason at setter to run the offense. The sophomore has recorded 806 assists this season for the Tars.
Series History: Tampa takes the all-time series history against Rollins 87-6.
Match Two: University of Tampa (11-13, 6-7 SSC) vs. Palm Beach Atlantic University (22-1, 14-1 SSC)

About the Sailfish: The Sailfish are currently 22-1 overall, 14-1 in the SSC. The two biggest offensive threats for the Palm Beach Atlantic are Ally Rohn and Raegen Grooms who have 264 and 185 kills respectively. Rohn also currently has the second most digs on the team with 254, just behind libero Susie Forbes who has 359. At setter, Molly Burkhardt leads the Sailfish with 422 assists this season. Ally Rohn is a close second with 419 assists.
