
Weekend Sweep for Spartans at the Tampa Classic
TAMPA, Fla. – The University of Tampa volleyball team defeats Gannon to complete weekend sweep at the Tampa Classic.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
First Set: Tampa started off the match winning the first four points. The Spartans would then increase their lead later in the set, 10-3. Tampa had a higher attack percentage throughout the match and would start off strong in the first set. In the first set, Tampa had a .209 attack percentage compared to Gannon's .176. | Score: 25-19 Tampa
Second Set: The Spartans would carry their momentum over from the first set, once again starting fast. The team would jump out to a 6-0 lead and later on in the set increase the lead to 10-3 following a kill by Nathaly Perez. The Spartans would have their largest lead of the set at 14-4 and later on as the Spartans would take set two, 25-14. | Score: 25-14 Tampa
Third Set: Tampa's dominant performance would continue in the third set and the team would start to pull away from the Golden Knights. At one point, the Spartans would lead 20-6. Gannon would continue to hang tough cutting the lead to 23-13 but it would not be enough as redshirt sophomore, Grace Greninger would log her first kill for the Spartans to give Tampa the win. | Score: 25-13 Tampa
