UT Women Run to Second-Place SSC Finish
Senior Claudia Cancello was Tampa's top finisher with her fourth career all-championship performance.
MELBOURNE, Fla. – The University of Tampa women's cross country team competed at the 2016 Sunshine State Conference Championships, placing second among league teams.

OTHER NOTABLES:
• The Spartans took 11 runners to the league title event.
• Following SLU and UT in the team standings were Florida Southern, Palm Beach Atlantic, Florida Tech, Nova Southeastern, Lynn and Rollins.
• This marks the fourth straight year where C. Cancello has finished in the top-10 at the SSC championships. This year's third-place effort follows a sixth-place finish as a freshman and junior as she was fifth as a sophomore.
• C. Cancello and Ramsey were named to the all-championship team, which is presented to the top-10 finishers.
• Also running for Tampa were Vera Rae Swardstrom, Aislynn Sroczynski, Eliana Ochoa, Lexi Bible, Kayla Sullivan and Mollie Pierson.
UP NEXT:
Tampa will train for the 2016 NCAA South Regional. The event takes place on Saturday, November 5. Saint Leo University will serve as the host.
