Jarrett Slaven, Spartan Runners, Dominate SSC All-Decade Team
MELBOURNE, Fla. - The Sunshine State Conference announced its 2010 to 2019 Women's Cross Country All-Decade honors with the University of Tampa garnering seven runners along with the Coach of the Decade. Voters named fourteen student-athletes from six programs as All-Decade. Runner of the Decade honors went to Saint Leo University's Colett Rampf, while the University of Tampa's Jarrett Slaven earned Coach of the Decade. All-Decade voting took place among the league's administrators and cross country coaches.
Among the Spartans named to the all-decade team were first-team selections Claudia Cancello, Zoe Jarvis, Danielle Kissel and Heather Nicolosi. Second-team members representing UT are Chantalle Blundell, Jessica Butler and Kaia Hampton.

Rampf earns Runner of the Decade accolades after becoming the only student-athlete in SSC history to win Runner, Swimmer, or Player of the Year four times during their career. The Premnitz, Germany native, was a four-time USTFCCCA All-South Region and USTFCCCA All-American selection. She won three NCAA South Region championships and was runner-up once. She represented Saint Leo in the NCAA National Championship meet four times, where she was the highest finishing SSC athlete each time.
Slaven is selected as SSC Coach of the Decade by his peers and league administrators. From 2010-19 he guided the Spartans to seven conference championships, six regional titles, and seven NCAA Championship meet appearances. Seven of Slaven's 15 career SSC Women's Cross Country Coach of the Year honors have come this past decade. He was also titled NCAA South Region Coach of the Year six times in the last 10 years.
The 2010-19 SSC All-Decade awards include seven SSC Runner of the Year winners and three former Freshman of the Year honorees. Additionally, four women were recognized as All-SSC First Team four times, and seven were named First Team All-SSC three times.
SSC Women's Cross Country from 2010 to 2019
Over the last 10 years, three SSC programs have hoisted the SSC meet trophy, led by Tampa with seven wins. Saint Leo won the conference title twice (2014 & 2016), and Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University brought home one championship (2017). UT took home six consecutive regional championships (2010-14), while Saint Leo (2017) and Embry-Riddle (2018) both hang one banner. Four schools reached the NCAA finals site a total of 16 times over the past decade. Tampa made the finals seven times, including six straight from 2010 to 2015, followed by Saint Leo with five appearances. Nova Southeastern University and Embry-Riddle have represented the conference twice.

Claudia Cancello, Tampa (2013-16)
- Cancello is one of four women honored as All-Decade who won four First Team All-SSC honors. She was also a four-time NCAA All-South Region designee. Cancello owns four Top-6 performances in the SSC Championship, including a third-place finish in 2016. During her time at UT, the Spartans won two conference titles and three regional titles.
Sarah Edens, Embry-Riddle (2017-19)
- Edens was the 2018 SSC Runner of the Year and league champion. Additionally, in 2018, she took home NCAA All-American and NCAA South Region Runner of the Year accolades. Edens was a three-time First Team All-SSC and NCAA All-South Region selection during her career. She helped guide Embry-Riddle to its first SSC Women's Cross Country title in 2017. Edens then piloted the Eagles to a regional title and NCAA finals appearance in 2018, both program firsts.
Zoe Jarvis, Tampa (2017-19)
- Jarvis was the 2019 SSC Runner of the Year and conference champion. She was a three-time First Team All-SSC award winner and a three-time NCAA All-South Region honoree. During her time as a Spartan, she led Tampa to a pair of conference titles and its first NCAA finals appearance in four years. Jarvis was named a USTFCCCA All-American in 2019.
Danielle Kissel, Tampa (2012-15)
- Kissel is one of four women honored as All-Decade who won four First Team All-SSC honors. She was also a three-time NCAA All-South Region designee. Cancello owns four Top-10 performances in the SSC Championship, including a fifth-place finish in 2013. During her time at UT, the Spartans won three conference titles and four regional titles.
Heather Nicolosi, Tampa (2010-11)
- Nicolosi was the 2010 SSC Runner of the Year and conference champion. During both her junior and senior seasons, she earned First Team All-SSC, NCAA All-South Region, NCAA All-South Region Runner of the Year, and All-American laurels. Tampa won back-to-back conference and regional championships during her final two years as a Spartan.
Alexandria Palm, Nova Southeastern (2010-13)
- Palm was the 2013 SSC Runner of the Year and league champion in 2012 and 2013. She is one of four All-Decade honorees who won four First Team All-SSC honors. Palm was also a four-time NCAA All-South Region award winner and the 2010 SSC Freshman of the Year. She led Nova Southeastern to the 2012 and 2013 NCAA DII National Championships.
Colett Rampf, Saint Leo (2014-17)

- Bayliff earned three First Team All-SSC honors, and two All-South Region nods during her career as a Lion. She helped Saint Leo win the 2016 SSC Championship, the 2017 NCAA South Region Championship, and reach the NCAA Championship three times. Bayliff owns three Top-5 finishes at the league championship, including a second-place finish in 2016.
Chantalle Blundell, Tampa (2012-15)
- Blundell was a three-time First Team All-SSC and NCAA All-South Region honoree during her career. She owns three Top-3 performances in the SSC Championship, including second-place finishes in 2014 and 2015. During her time at UT, the Spartans won three conference titles and four regional titles.
Jessica Butler, Tampa (2010-11)
- Butler was the 2011 SSC Runner of the Year and league runner-up. She also earned First Team All-SSC and NCAA All-South Region distinctions that same year. The Spartans won back-to-back conference and regional championships during her final two years in Tampa.
Nicole Clarke, Florida Tech (2010-11)
- Clarke earned both All-SSC First Team honors and NCAA All-South Region awards in back-to-back years to open the decade for Florida Tech. She also represented the Panthers at the 2011 NCAA Regional and NCAA National Championship.
Lauryn Falcone, Rollins (2010-12)
- Falcone was the 2012 SSC Runner of the Year and represented Rollins in the NCAA Regional and NCAA National Championships. She won three First Team All-SSC plaques following three consecutive Top-10 performances at the conference meet.
Kaia Hampton, Tampa (2010-12)
- Hampton was a three-time First Team All-SSC and All-South region honoree during her career. She owns three Top-10 performances in the SSC Championship, including a fifth-place finish in 2012. During her time at UT, the Spartans won three conference titles and three regional titles.
Laura Tobin, Saint Leo (2015-18)
- Tobin earned two First Team All-SSC honors, and three All-South Region nods during her career as a Lion. She helped Saint Leo win the 2016 SSC championship, 2017 NCAA South Region Championship, and reach the NCAA Championship three times. Tobin owns four Top-10 finishes at the SSC meet, including a fifth-place finish in 2016.
