SSC Coach of the Year Jarrett Slaven Places Five on All-SSC Team
Runner, Freshman, and Coach of the Year awards were voted upon by league coaches, while runners who finish Top-14 at the 2020-21 SSC Women's Cross Country Championship earn All-SSC status. Palm Beach Atlantic University hosted this year's championship on February 27th at the Rinker Athletic Campus in West Palm Beach.

Coaches selected Paige Patterson of Saint Leo University as SSC Runner of the Year following her win at the SSC Championship. The Edmonton, Alberta native claimed the 2020-21 title with a time of 22:34.88, besting the field by nearly six seconds. Patterson is the third Lion to be named SSC Runner of the Year1 and the first since 2017.
Ivanova Yanes from Nova Southeastern University earns Freshman of the Year honors following her fourth-place finish at this year's championship. Yanes, a product of Hollywood, Florida, is the third NSU runner to be named Freshman of the Year2 and the first since 2015.
Tampa's Jarrett Slaven is honored as SSC Women's Cross Country Coach of the Year for the 16th time after leading his team to three consecutive league titles. The Spartans defeated the field by 29 points at the championship, with all five runners finishing Top-12. Tampa has now amassed 16 league titles in women's cross country.
Zoe Jarvis of Tampa highlights the repeat All-SSC winners after earning a fourth straight First Team honor. Patterson, Sarah Zamot from Florida Southern, and Sydney Rhodes from Tampa all earn First Team awards for the second year in a row. Patterson and Rhodes also earned Second Team honors in 2018. Tampa's Aspen Gordon repeats as an All-SSC selection with a Second Team nod this year. Gordon was the Freshman of the Year as well as a First Team selection in 2019.
