Three Spartans Receive All-SSC Accolades as Zoe Jarvis Named Runner of the Year
MELBOURNE, Fla. – Fourteen student-athletes were named to SSC Women's Cross Country All-Conference Teams following the 2021 conference championship. After capturing its third league title, Saint Leo University is awarded five All-SSC honors, including Coach of the Year and Freshman of the Year. The University of Tampa had three runners on the list, including Zoe Jarvis, Anna Sentner and Aspen Gordon.
League coaches voted upon Runner, Freshman, and Coach of the Year awards, while runners who finish Top-14 at the 2021 SSC Women's Cross Country Championship earn All-SSC status. Florida Southern College hosted this year's championship on October 23rd at Holloway Park in Lakeland.

Jarvis is named SSC Runner of the Year for the second time following her win at the SSC Championship. The Tampa native claimed the 2021 title with a time of 21:26.67, besting the field by over nine seconds. Jarvis remains the eighth Spartan to win SSC Runner of the Year and becomes second to win the award twice1.
Faye Dervan from Saint Leo earns Freshman of the Year honors following her second-place finish at this year's championship. Dervan, a native of Dublin, Ireland, is the fourth Lion runner to earn Freshman of the Year2 and the first since 2014.
Saint Leo's Kent Reiber earns SSC Women's Cross Country Coach of the Year for the second time during his tenure. The Lions defeated the field by scoring 50 points at this year's championship, with three runners finishing Top-5. Saint Leo has now collected three league titles in women's cross country. Reiber is the only Saint Leo coach to win the award more than once.
Jarvis highlights the repeat All-SSC honorees with her fifth straight First Team honor. Paige Patterson from Saint Leo earns her third consecutive First Team award, while Ivanova Yanes from Nova Southeastern receives a second straight First Team Honor. Tampa's Anna Sentner and Palm Beach Atlantic University's Dune Costes moved up from Second Team accolades last season to First Team All-SSC. Overall, eight women repeat as all-conference from last season
