MEMPHIS, Tenn. - The 14th-ranked University of Tampa men's soccer team concluded a double overtime contest against Christian Brothers University with a 0-0 tie in front of a crowd of 385 fans. Both teams now stand at 0-0-1 on the year.
Each team had opportunities throughout the balanced contest. UT had 16 shots, four on goal while CBU tallied 14 and five respectively.
Goalkeeper Ryan Thompson registered five saves, while Ryan Maxwell led Tampa with a pair of shots. Lister Warren and Dan Ingvarsson were each credited with a shot as well.
"I give Christian Brothers a lot of credit," says head coach Adrian Bush. "We knew they were a tough team and they came to play. The atmosphere was unreal. We played well and had opportunites, but will continue to grow as a team and move on. It was a tough battle."
The Spartans return to action on Saturday against Alabama-Huntsville. The 1 p.m., match will be played in Memphis.
