TAMPA, Fla. - The No. 14 University of Tampa Spartans (11-2-1) thrilled the Homecoming crowd of 1,030 on Friday night, rolling over the Flagler College Saints (6-5-2) by a score of 4-0.
The Spartans got on the board early against the Saints when just minutes into the game, Tampa's leading point-getter Pascal Milien took a corner kick in the Flagler zone. Milien fed the ball to senior forward Ryan Maxwell who beat Flagler's Zach Volpi to put the score at 1-0. The assist would be the first of three helpers for Milien in the game.
In the 22nd minute, Milien took another corner, this time feeding the ball to Lister Warren who put in a header to increase the lead to two. Just under seven minutes later, freshman Mike Bethel put in a cross from Maxwell to put the game out of reach.
Milien then added his final assist when, through traffic on a corner kick, defender Kyle Williams put the ball past Volpi for the Spartans fourth goal.
Current Sunshine State Conference Defender of the Week Ryan Thompson made four saves en route to his seventh shutout of the season.
The Spartans will next face Johnson and Wales on Monday night at
7:00 p.m.
